At Capcom’s Resident Evil Village reveal, Capcom producer Tsuyoshi Kanda announced that as part of Resident Evil’s 25th Anniversary, a new multiplayer game called Resident Evil RE:Verse will be released for free for anybody who got a copy of Resident Evil Village.
RE:Verse is a multiplayer mode where up to four players will battle as one of many iconic Resident Evil characters. While the entire roster hasn’t been announced, the trailer shows heroes like Chris Redfield, Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, and Claire Valentine; as well as foes like Nemesis and even Jack Baker from Resident Evil 7.
There will be more characters which include HUNK and Ada Wong, There is no way of telling how many characters will be available when RE: Verse hit the market.
Beta tests for Resident Evil Ambassadors are set to start soon, so if you’re part of the program and have been chosen to test the game expect your invite soon.
Capcom has tinkered with Resident Evil multiplayer in the past as well. Most newly with the release of Resident Evil 3 Remake, when Capcom released a unique game called Resident Evil Resistance.
RE:Verse looks more straightforward and combat-based.
