Rush Hour TV show is being developed by Warner Bros. Television with Bill Lawrence scripting alongside his “Cougar Town” co-creator Blake McCormick. Lawrence spoke with NuketheFridge and revealed a few key details about the show.
The pilot episode will re-tell the story behind the 1998 film, Starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. The the story will pair a loudmouthed LAPD officer with a more reserved representative of the Hong Kong police, who Lawrence now confirms will be the same Detectives Lee and Carter.
“New plot, same characters,” he told the outlet. “A little younger, a little different, fish out of water. It’s a cool script. I’m psyched about it.”
When asked about the character’s martial art background as important, He replied.
“The character will be a martial artist,” he said, “but you know how TV works. I’m going to go with the best actor and then I’ll make anything work.”
