Seth Meyers pounded Donald Trump among mounting allegations leveled at the president and wondered if the businessman perhaps puts money on his on failure.
“Trump is harming his presidency so much I wouldn’t be surprised if he was throwing it because he has money on his own impeachment,” Meyers joked. “Before he was sworn in, I bet he called his bookie and said, ‘I’ll take the under.’”
Reports surfaced this week that before Trump fired James Comey, he asked the former FBI director to cease the bureau’s investigation into former National Security Adviser, Michael Flynn.
The seemingly never-ending scandal embroiling the White House reached fever pitch on Wednesday when Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein named a special prosecutor t oversee the inquiry into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
“Congress needs to take this seriously,” Meyers said of recent news events. “Instead, GOP leaders seem to be maintaining their cynical alliance with Trump just to get some taxed cuts passed.”
