It’s been announced recently that Olivia Munn has joined the cast of The Predator.
Shane Black is currently writing the film with Fred Dekker (Monster Squad). Black will also direct the film, and Olivia Munn will join Boyd Holbrook, who was previously cast in the lead.
According to THR, Munn will be playing a scientist opposite Holbrook’s special forces commando. They also offered a brief plot description for the film, saying that the story, which takes place 30 years after the events of the original film, “plunks the deadly alien hunter, who audiences have seen fight in jungles, concrete jungles, frozen wastelands and alien planets, in the harsh environment of … suburbia.”
Suburbia is definitely an interesting setting to drop the Predator into! He’ll be battling through the homes of families, supermarkets, parks, churches, schoolyards, and whatever else the suburbs have to offer.
Producer Jon Davis explained:
“The writing is so fresh, the perspective is so fresh. I’m telling you, you’re going to get something you don’t expect and you’re going to say, ‘This is the most entertaining way to reinvent a franchise.’”
The Predator will start shooting the film in February 2017, and it will be released in theaters on February 9th, 2018.
