Some Retailers Are Selling Pokemon Halloween Cards Early

Pokemon Halloween Cards

The Pokemon Company has confirmed a Trick or Trade booster bundle arriving at the Pokemon TCG shortly, and it will feature some set-exclusive cards that will likely become coveted in the future. Some US retailers have started to sell this Halloween-themed Pokemon TCG set early, as they still aren’t expected to go on sale for at least two weeks.

With the summer coming to an end, many retailers are preparing for the Halloween season by selling bite-sized candies, and Pokebeach has spotted some that are already selling the Pokemon TCG Halloween cards early. Similar to the small chocolates familiar to the season, these Pokemon TCG packs were designed for being given away during the October holiday. Just like in previous years of Pokemon GO, it’s likely that the mobile game may also receive a Halloween-themed update closer to the holiday, while other popular Pokemon titles like Pokemon Unite or Pokemon Masters EX could also get some changes in time for Halloween.

Pokemon TCG fans in the US may be able to locate some Trick or Trade booster bundles from retailers like Kohl’s and Kroger which are areas that have already been confirmed to have sold them early. The Trick or Trade booster bundle comes with 40 mini-packs that each offer three cards, one less than the Pokemon TCG packs from McDonald’s in the past. The new packs of cards aren’t supposed to be sold until September 1, but some of these vendors may have inadvertently broken the street date by not only stocking the stands with these packs but selling them to some lucky collectors as well. The booster bundle costs $14.99 and each package that’s been seen so far includes every card in the Halloween lineup.

The Pokemon cards that are in this Trick or Trade booster bundle are reprints of classic Halloween cards including Gengar, Mewtwo, Mimikyu, and Gorgeist, and each of them has a Pikachu pumpkin stamp in the spot that identifies which set a card comes from. Lucky Pokemon TCG fans may find holographic versions of Gengar, Mewtwo, Mismagius, Dusknoir, Darkrai, Chandelure, Trevenant, Gorgeist, Mimikyu, and Hatterene, while there are a total of 30 unique cards to collect in the full set. According to fans that have secured some of these bundles, Chandelure and Darkrai are the rarest cards in the set, but both can easily be discovered in one bag of cards, making it easy to obtain the entire set.
