Over the last several years, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has been talking about making another Spawn film. Well, he got some brilliant ideas and the movie will turn out just fine if he did as he planned.
He’s also talked about an Oscar-winning actor that wanted to be a part of it. McFarlane would never say who that actor was, but we assumed it was Jamie Foxx. Well, Foxx has confirmed that he is the guy and that he’s “aggressively pursuing” the project.
During an interview with Movies, Foxx was asked about other roles he would like to take on and this was his response:
“Spawn is one, yeah. And Mike Tyson. Those are two roles I would just love to do. I’m aggressively pursuing them.”
The project is slow but it’s on the right track and progressing, It seems like at this point we are waiting for McFarlane to finish the script. Earlier this year he said,
“I continue to write a page here and there. As I’ve said before, I’ve got a guy waiting on the sidelines who’s an Academy Award-winning actor who phones every three weeks going ‘Todd, where’s the script? Where’s the script?’
He came out to the office, he gave me his pitch, I gave him my pitch, and he’s like ‘Fine, let’s do your gig.’ The pitch I gave him was that we could then do, like, ten of these for the next ten years, and he wouldn’t have to be 22 for the rest of his life.”
