Spider-Man: Homecoming

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming adds more cast members it includes, Better Call Saul actor Michael Mando and Fargo actor Bokeem Woodbine both joining the ensemble, the latter of which is said to be playing a villain.

Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group Tom Rothman sat down with The Hollywood Reporter for an extended interview and the topic of the wall crawler naturally came up. When asked if Sony was still interested in pursuing a whole ‘Spider-Man universe’ on film and continuing their relationship with Marvel, he replied:

“Yes to both those questions. It’s been fantastic, our relationship with Marvel.”

The Spider-Man: Homecoming cast includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, Michael Keaton as a mystery villain (believed to be the Vulture), Logan Marshall-Green as a secondary villain, Kenneth Choi as Peter’s high school Principal and Zendaya as a character by the name of Michelle. There’s also mystery roles for Donald Glover, Martin Starr, Michael Barbieri, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Isabella Amara, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., J.J. Totah, and Hannibal Burress.

“It really is a homecoming,” Tom Holland told the CinemaCon crowd during the film’s title announcement earlier this year, “because, throughout the movie, Peter is trying to find out who he is and where he belongs in this world.”

Spider-Man: Homecoming will hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
