The digital release of Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home came with a deleted scene that keeps the hope alive for Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield to come back to the MCU as their versions of Spider-Man.
The scene features a moment where Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is saying goodbye to his multiversal counterparts. In this alternate moment, Garfield’s Spider-Man tells Holland, “You know where to find us.”
That’s a tease that Peter 2 and Peter 3 could make their way back to the MCU someday. But, this is a deleted scene and is technically not part of the movie. Marvel may have had the scene cut because they didn’t want fans to think that they would see these versions of Spider-Man again.
It would be a shame if we didn’t see Maguire and Garfield back in the MCU again eventually. When earlier talking about his potential return, Garfield said:
“In terms of moving forward with the character, yes, I am definitely open to that, and again, it would have to be something very unique, very special, and of service to an audience, of service to the character. I think there’s something playful and unique and odd and unexpected to be done. I’m not sure what that is, but if we can figure that out, that would be so much fun.”
He went on to say:
“Never say never. It’s a character that’s always going to be so meaningful to me, and so beautiful to me and again, it comes back to service. I think if there’s a way, because that’s what that character is all about, he’s all about serving the greater good and serving his fellow people, serving humanity and all life.
“So, if there’s a way for me to continue to add to the legacy of that character in a way that feels like it’s of service to an audience, of service to the themes that [co-creator] Stan Lee injected that character with. I’m open, of course, I’m very, very open, but it would have to be very, very special. It would have to be very, very meaningful and fun, and joyful, like doing No Way Home was.”
