Deadline today reports that Splinter Cell Movie has found a director and it’s Doug Liman and he will be directing Tom Hardy.
The first game, Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell, was released in 2002 and set in 2004, following the adventures of Sam Fisher, a covert operative assigned to a top-secret National Security Agency branch called the Third Echelon.
Before Liman came on board the movie was in development at DreamWorks and Paramount and it had Peter Berg attached to direct. The project is now set up at New Regency with Ubisoft leading the charge.
