Anton Yelchin, an actor from the new rebooted Star Trek series, died in a car accident on Sunday, according to his publicist. He was 27. Born March 11, 1989, in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg.
“Yelchin was killed in a fatal traffic collision early this morning,” publicist Jennifer Allen told BuzzFeed News in a statement. “His family requests you respect their privacy at this time.”
Yelchin played the role of Chekov in Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) and Star Trek Beyond, which is set for release later this year.
