Scalextric is one of the oldest, best-known slot car makers in the world. Their tracks and cars have provided hobbyists with fodder for decades and their commitment to detail has made even the most accurate modelmaker mirthful.
The company has produced tie-ins to television and movies like Knight Rider, Tim Burton’s Batman, and the Dukes of Hazzard. But this fall, Scalextric is journeying much further – to a galaxy far, far away. Early this fall, the company will release two Star Wars sets, one that represents the speeder bike chase on Endor and another that highlights an X-wing and Vader’s TIE/x1 fighter in a glow-in-the-dark attack on the Death Star.
The Endor set will retail for $149 and the Death Star set for $99. With Scalextric’s speed and detail, both sets should be a blast!
