Stephen Colbert strike at the President Donald Trump’s desire to ramp up America’s nuclear arsenal on Friday.
The “Late Show” host first made fun at the way in which the President said Thursday that he wanted to make the U.S. the “top of the pack” when it came to nukes.
“Not sure if he means top dog or leader of the pack,” quipped Colbert, “but either way, he is not the sharpest knife on the Christmas tree.”
With the serious tone, Colbert called a new generation of nuclear weapons a “terrifying prospect” — coming as it did following years of “careful” decommissioning.
“It’s like the Cold War all over again,” the host said. “But this time everyone’s on Russia’s side.”
