Cliffhanger

Recently, it was announced that the 1993 mountain climbing action thriller movie, Cliffhanger, is getting a sequel, much to the surprise of many movie fans. The news was made even more interesting by the fact that Sylvester Stallone, who starred in the original movie, is set to reprise his role as Ranger Gabriel “Gabe” Walker in the sequel. This unexpected development has generated a lot of buzz and excitement among fans of the action genre.

The sequel will be directed by Ric Roman Waugh, who is known for his work on the action movie, Angel Has Fallen. The script for the movie has been written by Mark Bianculli, who is best known for his work on the Amazon Prime series, Hunters. Stallone will also serve as a producer on the project, and the casting process for the rest of the cast is currently underway.

While no story details have been released for the sequel, it has been confirmed that the movie will follow the character of Ranger Gabriel “Gabe” Walker, who helped rescue a group of stranded hikers in the original movie, only to discover that they were actually a gang of violent criminals trying to recover their missing $100M following a plane crash. The original movie, which was directed by Renny Harlin, also starred John Lithgow, Michael Rooker, and Janine Turner.

Ric Roman Waugh, who will be directing the sequel, expressed his excitement about the project, saying that growing up with the biggest action films of the 80s and 90s, working on many of them himself, Cliffhanger was by far one of his favorite spectacles. He also expressed his delight at the opportunity to work with Sylvester Stallone on the project, calling it a dream come true. Producer Neal H. Moritz also expressed his excitement about the project, saying that he will never forget the thrill he felt watching Stallone in the original Cliffhanger movie.

Stallone, who most recently signed a deal to produce and star in the action comedy Never Too Old to Die, which was conceived as a starring vehicle for him, has been busy lately. With the announcement of the Cliffhanger sequel, it seems that Stallone is not slowing down anytime soon.

For fans of the original movie, the announcement of the sequel is sure to generate a lot of excitement and anticipation. It remains to be seen whether the sequel will live up to the standards set by the original movie, but with Stallone back in the lead role, fans are definitely looking forward to seeing what the sequel has in store.
