That’s How You See Netflix Hidden Categories

Netflix

Most of the Netflix content can get pretty hard to find and trust me there is a lot of content on that service than you ever know, but there is a better way to browse the tons of ordinary and dull titles on Netflix.

Netflix has a master list of categories that go far away the usual Action, Drama, Sci-Fi and the like. Anyone can access them by simply typing special URLs into a browser.

Each URL has the format:

http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/###

…where the “###” is where you put the code that relates to the particular category you’re looking for. For example, 35800 is steamy romantic movies, 11140 is supernatural thrillers and 67879 is Korean TV shows.

Netflix spokesperson Marlee Tart said: “We categorize our content into thousands of subgenres to help match the right content to the right member based on their viewing history.”

Tart didn’t give the exact number of genres they use to keep their movies and TV shows, but she says it changes often.

Here’s a list of subgenres and its codes, log in to your Netflix account and click on the links below to get into specific categories.
