The new synopsis previews what fans can expect, and mentions that the experiences of Din Djarin and Grogu will continue as the New Republic resumes to struggle to try and lead the galaxy. Also teased in the upcoming season is the inclusion of “old allies” and “new enemies.”
“The journeys of the Mandalorian through the Star Wars galaxy continue. Once a lone bounty hunter, Din Djarin has reunited with Grogu,” says the synopsis. “Meanwhile, the New Republic struggles to lead the galaxy away from its dark history. The Mandalorian will cross paths with old allies and make new enemies as he and Grogu continue their journey together.”
The Mandalorian season 3 is set to premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. The announcement tweet also featured a new image of the titular Mandalorian and his ward, Grogu, who was affectionately dubbed “Baby Yoda” by the general public upon his release.
The Star Wars series includes Pedro Pascal as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy. Before the new season, Pascal’s Din Djarin earlier appeared in Disney+’s The Book of Boba Fett, which saw Djarin and Grogu join after the events of The Mandalorian Season 2’s ending.
