Producer Steven Spielberg and director Tobe Hopper’s Poltergeist was one of the best horror movies. The movie was released back in 1982 and it’s a movie that I’ve never watched the movie in the theater, which is sad because I love to watch it in the theater.
We just don’t get brilliant movie marketing like this anymore! The teaser shows off real paranormal investigators talking about what a Poltergeist is and what it can actually do. There’s also an amazing voiceover narration introducing the movie that explains that it’s “the first real ghost story.”
The trailer doesn’t show much footage which is a good thing, it mostly comes with images from the movie that are cut and pasted together with the interviews. It then ends with footage from the movie of the kids in the story being traumatized by the poltergeist. It’s just amazing marketing! Hollywood needs to get creative one more with how they market the new movies.
