The Predator Hunt Down Comanche Warriors In New Full Trailer of PREY

20th Century has released a full trailer for director Dan Trachtenberg’s upcoming Predator movie, Prey. The story is set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago and it sees the Predator hunting down Comanche warriors.

The movie follows a young woman named Naru, “a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.”

The movie has a wonderful visual style, especially with its location setting. It also looks like it’s going to feature some amazing and exciting action sequences. It was previously reported that the filmmakers were committed to giving an accurate portrayal of the Comanche and bringing a level of authenticity to the movie, one that rings true to its Indigenous peoples.

The production even had Jhane Myers (Monsters of God) on board as a producer. She is an acclaimed filmmaker and member of the Comanche nation herself and “is known for her attention and dedication to films surrounding the Comanche and Blackfeet nations and her passion for honoring the legacies of the Native communities. As a result, the film features a cast comprised almost entirely of Native and First Nation’s talent.”

Maybe the studio told them that the Comanche characters needed to speak English. The movie looks like it will be good and fun! I’m super excited and want to watch it badly, it just didn’t have that one element that I expected it would have.

The film’s cast includes Amber Midthunder (The Ice Road, Roswell, New Mexico), newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home), and Julian Black Antelope (Tribal).

Prey will be released exclusively on Hulu on August 5, 2022.
