The Razzie Awards Revealed The Winners of The Worst Films of 2022

Jared Leto / Morbius

The Razzie Awards have recently declared the winners of the worst films and performances of 2022, and it’s safe to say that some of Hollywood’s biggest names made the list. Ana de Armas’s Netflix movie “Blonde” took home the top prize of Worst Picture, which the Razzies dubbed as “misogynistic, salacious, and fallacious.” They further added that the movie “shamelessly exploits the memory of the late Marilyn Monroe.”

Jared Leto was awarded the Worst Actor Award for his role in “Morbius,” while Tom Hanks was named Worst Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Col. Tom Parker in the otherwise critically acclaimed biopic, “Elvis.” The Razzie organizers commented on Hanks, who is known for his exceptional acting abilities, stating that he “went a bridge too far” with his performance in the movie.

Interestingly, the Razzies even gave themselves an award for Worst Actress, after including 12-year-old Ryan Kiera Armstrong in their list of nominees for the category. The decision was criticized as tasteless by many in the industry.

As always, the Razzies ceremony provides a humorous counterpoint to the glamour and prestige of the Academy Awards, highlighting the less celebrated films and performances of the year. While some of the winners may feel embarrassed by their Razzie wins, many have taken the awards in stride and even showed up to accept them in person.
