YouTuber Alli Kat released this introductory video essay on the startling similarities between Disney’s The Lion King and Osamu Tezuka’s Kimba the White Lion. Kimba was created in 1950, and animated in 1965. The Lion King came out in 1994.

A google search will discover many articles on the controversy. I know any cartoon which are about animals with lions as the heroes are sure to have connections, it was the driving campaign by Disney about The Lion King’s originality that has irked some.
