The T-Rex that we have seen in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park in 1993 has had quite a journey over the course of the movie franchise. Well, her story will continue in Jurassic World: Dominion, and director Colin Trevorrow gave some insight, saying that the T-Rex will finish her story arc in the upcoming movie. He told /Film:
“We will see her in the third film, and this is really setting up her arc in the third film. The T-Rex has been through a lot. I’m with you, I find her to be a major character as well. She started on Isla Nublar, a park that never opened and then she went through the events of Jurassic World, which were probably pretty traumatic for her. Then her home was destroyed and she was taken to a totally foreign environment, and now she’s basically on the run from the cops, and it’s all really stressful. I want her to live in peace. That’s all I want for her. So hopefully, the audience will want the same thing.”
I love the T-Rex in the franchise and I love that they included T-Rex in these Jurassic World movies and how she’s evolved into this anti-hero character that the audience is hoping for. It sounds like when this next chapter comes to an end, she will meet her end in the movie.
In the next movie, dinosaurs have fled captivity and are living free in the world. The story will explore how humanity is living with this huge change.
The movie stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Justice Smith, and Daniella Pineda in the upcoming movie, and they will be joined by additional original Jurassic Park stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern. All these main characters will have stories in the movie that will lead to the two groups of characters finally meeting.
Jurassic World: Dominion will hit theaters on June 10th, 2022.
