The degree to which corruption is perceived to exist in the country is called the Corruption Perceptions Index or the CPI. It ranges between 0 and 10 where 0 being the most corrupt and 10 being very clean.
1. Somalia
Somalia is the most corrupt country in the world. Its CPI score is 1.1. Somalia keeps leadership in corruption since 2005 when they had a CPI score of 2.1.
2. Myanmar
Myanmar takes the second place in the corruption top 5 with a CPI score of 1.4. Myanmar has moved from the 3rd most corrupt country last year to the 2nd most corrupt country this year.
3. Afghanistan
With a CPI score of 1.4 Afghanistan becomes the 3rd most corrupt country in the world. Last year their CPI score was 1.3 so they have moved from 2nd most corrupt country to the 3rd most corrupt country this year.
4. Iraq
Iraq is the 4th most corrupt country in the world with a CPI score of 1.5 as against last year’s CPI score of 1.3. Despite the situation with corruption has improved a little, they have moved to the 4th place from the 5th most corrupt country last year.
5. Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan got a CPI score of 1.6 this year and is the world’s 5th most corrupt country. During one year their CPI score has decreased from 1.8 it was last year to 1.6 this year.
