A new trailer has been released for the upcoming drama Greetings From Tim Buckley, which is based on the rise of musical artist Jeff Buckley. Buckley was a very talented musician whose life was cut short when he died unexpectedly at the age of 30 in 1997.
The movie was directed by Dan Algrant (People I Know, Naked in New York), and it stars Penn Badgely (Gossip Girl) as Jeff; Imogen Poots as Buckley’s love interest, Allie; and Ben Rosenfield as Jeff’s dad, Tim.
In 1991, a young Jeff Buckley rehearses for his public singing debut at a Brooklyn tribute show for his father, the late folk singer Tim Buckley. Struggling with the legacy of a man he barely knew, Jeff forms a friendship with an enigmatic young woman (Imogen Poots) working at the show and begins to discover the powerful potential of his own musical voice.
