Sony’s upcoming Uncharted film teaser trailer has leaked online, giving fans the game a very blurry, but new look at the highly anticipated action movie before its release on February 18, 2022.
In a short look at footage from the movie, which seems to have been recorded inside of a theater showing off the trailer, we see Nathan Drake (Tom Holland) waking up in the air, connected to a falling line of cargo that’s hanging out of a plane. Check out the trailer below:
This scene of the movie seems like it was taken directly from Uncharted 3, indicating the possibility of the movie using some of the original game’s iconic set-pieces as references in the movie. Alongside the short look at the clip, Holland’s Drake is also seen getting into a scuffle with a Scottish man, where we’re also treated to some of the film’s humor.
It’s likely that a full, HD version of the clip will release soon. It had been rumored for some time now that the trailer would release alongside Dune, but Sony may have no choice but to release things a bit early because of this leak.
Directed by Zombieland and Venom director Ruben Fleischer, Uncharted is expected to be a prequel to the game franchise and will be taking inspiration from both a sequence of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, in which young thief Nathan Drake first meets future partner Victor Sullivan, and the fourth installment in the game franchise, A Thief’s End.
Fleischer, who was the 7th director attached to the movie project, is directing Uncharted from a script written by the Men in Black: International duo Art Marcum & Matt Holloway and Rafe Judkins, based on a story put together by the trio and former director Dan Trachtenberg, Mark D. Walker, and John Hanley Rosenberg.
