Universal Pictures Revealed The Plans For DESPICABLE ME 4 and Release Date

Universal Pictures and Illumination is coming back with a new movie with Gru and the Minions. They’ve just revealed that they were developing Despicable Me 4 and it’s set to come out in theaters on July 3rd, 2024.

Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Pierre Coffin, Miranda Cosgrove, and Steve Coogan will all be coming back for the next chapter in the animated sequel which will resume the story of the super-villain and his army of yellow Minions.

The sequel will be directed by Chris Renaud, the director of the first two Despicable Me movies, and Patrick Delage will co-direct. Mike White will write the script and Illumination founder Chris Meledandri will produce.

Universal will release its second Despicable Me spinoff movie Minions: The Rise of Gru on July 1st after being postponed two years by the COVID-19 pandemic. That film follows Gru’s childhood exploits, where he tries to join a supervillain team called the Vicious 6.
