Avengers: Endgame has hit the theaters and fans are loving what they’re seeing. Don’t worry if you haven’t though, as this post will not include any spoilers for Endgame. Rather, we’ll be jumping back to the previous Avengers movie, Avengers: Infinity War.
In Infinity War, Thanos’ plan is that he will return the balance by wiping out half of all living things. This will, in theory, prevent over-consumption. This doesn’t sound like too bad of a plan either at first glance when you don’t care about the ethics of the said situation. However, it turns out it’s still a terrible idea once you actually think all the things it will include.
Business Insider shared a video recently that talked about how flawed Thanos’ plan actually is. You see because it really takes each living population by species and then cuts that by half, you’re making more problems for threatened species, killing off bees, and causing all sorts of quandaries with plant life.
Essentially, Thanos’ plan would end ecosystems and is frightening if his goal is to restore balance and let the survivors flourish once more.
