Check out this interesting video and well-thought-out video by Patrick H. Willems all about the Marvel superhero movies, They started with the early solo movies like Hulk and Daredevil and the Spider-Man trilogy that turned the way we look at superhero movies.
He takes us through the start of the Marvel Cinematic Universe phases that began with Iron Man in 2008 and praises Joss Whedon for the beautiful and game-changing direction he provided in The Avengers, as well as his ideas about how comic-book movies should be handled.
Then we enter what he calls Phase 2 and the Hydra Problem. He goes through many of the movies and points out flaws in the storylines that either I hadn’t noticed, or just didn’t care that much about because I love the characters, and I let the story slip a little. I mean, it is all a fantasy. I’m not exactly going to a superhero movie for accuracy and consistency. But maybe we should be holding all movies to a higher standard?
