WAITING FOR THE BARBARIANS Trailer with Johnny Depp, Robert Pattinson, and Mark Rylance

Check out the new trailer for an upcoming period drama titled Waiting for the Barbarians. The movie has an awesome cast of actors that includes Mark Rylance (Bridge of Spies, Dunkirk), Johnny Depp, and Robert Pattinson (The Batman, Tenet).

The movie is based on Nobel Prize-winning novel written by J.M. Coetzee and this is the synopsis:

The Magistrate (Rylance) of an isolated frontier settlement on the border of an unnamed empire looks forward to an easy retirement until the arrival of Colonel Joll (Depp), whose task it is to report on the activities of the ‘barbarians’ and on the security situation on the border. Joll conducts a series of ruthless interrogations, which leads the Magistrate to question his loyalty to the empire.

The movie was directed by Ciro Guerra (Embrace of the Serpent) from a script written by the author of the book. The movie also stars Greta Scacchi, David Dencik, Sam Reid, Harry Melling, Gana Bayarsaikhan, and Bill Milner.

The movie will be released On Demand and on Digital on August 7th.
