Warner Bros’ 2007 I Am Legend was never moved forward to have a sequel but this time around WB is all hands on deck with the project, though there have been repeated attempts to bring about a prequel and a sequel to the big screen. Now it seems the studio is going another route as Deadline brings word WB will be rebooting the franchise.
No word about Will Smith joining the reboot as yet, He is not interested in the reboot or the sequel of any sort as it seems.
The outlet reports that writer Gary Graham wrote an original screenplay titled “A Garden at the End of the World” which the studio saw as having similar themes and mythology to the film and decided it could be re-written as a reboot of the franchise.
I Am Legend producers Akiva Goldsman, James Lassiter, and Joby Harold are on board to produce once again.
