It’s like Top Gear is all about and after big guns of the movies we just saw last week Benedict Cumberbatch on the Top Gear and now Wolverine slices through Top Gear and roar on the British track.

Grizzled veterans in the Top Gear production team were of one united opinion this week: show four in our twentieth series was the hottest ever.

Not because Hugh Jackman was down at the track trying to wring every last bit of performance out of our new Vauxhall Astra Techline. Not because we had a Mercedes SLS going head-to-head with its bright yellow electric counterpart. And not because we finally unveiled our urban transport solution to British flooding.

No, it was simply very hot. Over 30 degrees. And the air conditioning in the studio was on the blink.
