A tower standing 114 feet tall in Budapest now holds the record for tallest Lego tower in the world.
Guinness World Records confirms it is “the tallest structure built with interlocking plastic bricks,” according to Tandice Abedian, spokeswoman for Guinness, in a phone interview with USA TODAY Network.
The obelisk soars in front of the city’s St. Stephen’s Basilica. It consists of more than 450,000 toy pieces and is topped with a Rubik’s cube.
Lego Store Budapest organized the construction, and schoolchildren and members of the public helped build the tower from May 21 to May 25, Abedian said. Source: Guinness World Records.
