Xbox Officially Acquired ZeniMax Media Including Bethesda

Xbox officially concluded the acquisition of ZeniMax Media which is the parent company of quite many development studios including Bethesda. This news means any game made by Bethesda Game Studios, id Software, ZeniMax Online Studios, Arkane, MachineGames, Tango Gameworks, Alpha Dog, and Roundhouse Studios will be exclusive to the Xbox consoles and PC.

Now we will be getting more games on Xbox Game Pass from these studios. We know that new Bethesda games will be added at some point this week. The last big point is that even if a game is not exclusive to Xbox and PC, “Xbox consoles, PC, and Game Pass will be the best place to experience new Bethesda games.”

Xbox now says that they want Bethesda to maintain doing what they do and it sure sounds like they want to at least look that they’re not being the sinister corporation that comes in and crushes creative choices. How this will play out, in the long run, is something that only time will tell.
