What Did We All Do Before YouTube

I’ve been using the internet in one form or another since the mid-90’s (’94 I think) so I remember how long it took to load photo’s etc.

But I’ve been racking my brains trying to remember an internet without YouTube, what did we do if we wanted to watch some lolcats, or your favorite TV theme tune, before YouTube set up shop. Bearing in mind it was only 5 years ago that it began and it took time to catch on in popularity.

To me “YouTube” is as much as verb in modern life as it is a noun. “I YouTubed this funny dog yesterday it was roflol”.
